Loading... Please wait...Electricians’ gloves / gauntlets are designed for use by qualified personnel working with live electrical equipment. They protect the wearer against electrical shocks up to the corresponding voltage for each class of glove / gauntlets. All gloves are manufactured and tested to the BSI Standard BS EN 60903.

The gloves undergo both routine and sampling tests including mechanical, ageing, thermal, and special properties.
Electrical Safety Gloves have a test voltage applied during individual routine tests, and a higher voltage, known as the 'withstand voltage' applied during validation tests once the gloves have been conditioned for sixteen hours in water and after a 3-minute test at the proof voltage.
When you select which class of gloves to opt for, it is important to define the network nominal voltage, which must not exceed the maximum operating (working) voltage listed against that class. For multi-phase networks, the network nominal voltage is the voltage between phases.
Classes 00 and 0 of our electricians' gloves should undergo regular leakage tests and visual inspections; a formal re-test is not mandatory, however.
Classes 1, 2 and 3 of the electricians' gloves require a test every six months; gloves can be returned to Martin's Rubber for re-testing, date stamping and provision of a test certificate; for costs, please contact us.
After each use, gloves should be placed back into their protective packaging; for maintenance guidance, please see the relevant section.
This covers the re-testing, date stamping and provision of test certificate.
Gloves / gauntlets should be stored in a protective PVC container
After use, replace gloves in their protective bags. If the gloves become dirty, they should be washed in soapy water at a temperature of less than 70 o then carefully dried at less than 65 o and dusted with purified talc. If stained with paint or tar DO NOT use petrol, paraffin based products or white spirit, instead clean gloves with a light solvent then wash and dry as described.
